The Kids Didn't Want to Leave

4 min read

Sometimes the best measure of a family getaway is what happens when the kids forget to ask for a screen.

For families staying at Adorably Rustic Cabin, the catch-and-release pond has a way of becoming the center of the trip. Fishing poles come out early. Boots get muddy. Breakfast can wait a few minutes because something just moved at the other end of the pond.

Meanwhile, parents can watch much of it unfold from the covered deck with coffee in hand.

That combination is one of the things families seem to appreciate most about staying here: there is room for everyone to do their own thing without ever feeling far apart. The kids can fish or explore around the property while the adults settle onto the porch, enjoy the meadow and mountain views, or simply enjoy not having anywhere they need to be.

Inside, the cabin is set up for a real family stay. The kitchen is stocked for cooking rather than just reheating takeout. The second bedroom has two queen beds and its own bathroom, while the primary suite gives parents a king bed and private bath.

And then there is Greer itself.

You can spend the day surrounded by pine forest, wildlife and mountain air, then walk into the village for dinner without turning the evening into another excursion.

That balance is part of what makes Greer special. There is plenty to do, but very little pressure to do any of it.

For some families, the hardest part of the stay turns out to be convincing everyone that it is actually time to go home.
